Who am I?

What do I do?
I primarily specialize in full-stack web development and sometimes UI design, but I like to code anything, from game dev stuff to IoT automation. My most proud web development project would be the private file uploader and server uwu.so, which still receives updates after 5 years of service.
Who's the girl featured across the website?
My OC, Leah Takamine (高峰リア), was originally named Leah Mountain (マウンテン・リア) back in 2015, but I changed her name in 2025 to better fit the theme. She’s occasionally been a main character in some of my non-programming projects, and these days she represents me as a person online.
Are you looking for a job?
I am not actively looking for new employment, however I always appreciate the offer. For full-time offers please email me at work@mishashto.com. If it's a contract job or a freelance, please email me at me@mishashto.com with a proper subject. For anything non-work related contact me using anything you prefer!
Personal belief
I make 99.7% of my things completely free and open-source because I believe that FOSS software is the reason where we are now, many of the things you take for granted run completely free and open-source software behind the curtains, like many video processors run ffmpeg, and almost all major websites and services run nginx. I do NOT think things I make are up there with such legends as ffmpeg or nginx, but it doesn't have to be.
I completely understand businesses need to make money but in the current state of the internet we have big corporations upselling the same broken buggy software every year without major updates, as well as introducing subscription services and other predatory tactics to get you to pay for the thing you've already been using. As well as locking it all behind DRM, online-only anti-privacy measures, that don't stop privacy in any way.
On top of that, some of them will require you to pay to cancel their shitty subscription, which is beyond tolerable, but people don't have choices, because they've been using their software for several years and industry relies on it. This is the reason I want and will support free and open-source software.
For the future, if I made something paid, yes I'm the greediest person ever and also hypocritical. Jokes aside, I'm still human and need to make money. Reasons for such decision probably will depend on the project, if that happened and you're interested why, please send me a DM.
Other thing which I don't tolerate is gatekept educational services, in my personal belief education should be completely libre. Educational services and patent browsers that lock all of the information behind hundred dollar paywall are disgusting. Free educational resources will and still are generating new talents all over the world, no matter their economical state, no matter where they are.
For anyone wondering I'm apolitical. I don't care about things happening here and there. I'm not a socialist, marxist or anything below or above. Just because one of my beliefs matched some artificial group's beliefs it does not make me automatically a part of that group. I have disagreements with every side of political spectrum and do not wish to be a part of it.
